Do any of you know about Lotus Bicycles? Reciently obtained a Lotus Elan 12sp road bike (made sometime in the early 80's)... This particular model has 27"x1.25" rims, and all of the gear on the bike is Japanese. I know they were Japanese made bikes, but was looking for more detailed info about the manufacture, cost when new, etc... Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen two bicycles carrying the Lotus name. One was a low cost Japanese bike, made in the 70's and 80's, I think. Looked a lot like a Fuji as I recall. No connection with the auto company. The other is the Lotus 110, with a definite connection to the auto company, and worth quite a bit. But you would know if you had one of those... |

I know of the Lotus 110 (nice ride).... Was more interested in finding out about the components, I've been on some other posting groups and one had some Lotus bikes, but they all have Shimano bits on them, mine however has Jou Yu, Long Yu, DNP Long Vih, and Areo 3pc Crank........I don't know who made the brakes, there are no markings on them at all. Thanx for you reply tho.
