Default Bell Speedometer

I have a small problem...I have an older bell speedometer and no manual. My problem is that I just bought new batteries for it and so it rest itself. Now it doesnt seem to work. While im riding it continues to stay at 0km/h. Do I need to do something to get it to connect with the part on the fork. Any ideas would be great. I dont know the model number for it nor can i find a pic of it on the net either. Please help!!!
