Default Re: Road bike v Tri bike

You might consider a Specialized Transition Multi-Sport. It has geometry closer to a tri-bike, and aero bars, but also has the shifters on the drops for regular road riding. I have one, and I've had good luck with it. I ride it in group rides, but you definitely have to stay off the aero bars in any type of group setting. I'm in the market now for a carbon fiber bike, since my bikes primary weakness is on longer, steeper hills (it's a bit heavy).

Hope this helps.
