I'm looking for a ponture proof set of training tires.I tried different sets but still getting lots of flats,i ride an average of 350 miles a week, i weigh 140 lb. . Here in the Pacific northwest ( cascades ) the roads are not always very good and we find a lot of junk on the road side. Are you getting a lots of flats? do you know any poncture proof tires |

Specialized Armadillos are generally touted as the most puncture resistant tires but they are on the heavy side and have a reputation for riding like you're on a bare rim. I think that Continental Gatorbacks, while less puncture resistant, are a better compromise between puncture resistance and performance. Lots of riders have other favorite brands. |

On my commuter bike I ride rather puncture-resistant tyres, and then lay a Mr Tuffy strip between the tube and tyre. As far as good reliable road (700c) tyres go, I like the Continental GP 4-Seasons. They are sort of like the Gatorskins Retro Grouch mentioned, but a bit racier (softer rubber compound, and lighter.)

assume 700c like the rest, he must have a pump with a gauge... OK, my 2c: Training wheels, Tri bike, Conti Ulta Gator Skins, Race wheels, both bikes, Conti GP4000.

http://www.vittoria.com/index3.asp?lingua=en I check the tyre pressure every second day, or every day if it's a long ride. 120psi. Not 119, not 121. I use the same Silca pump every time, I will not use another pump unless it's an emergency (twice). I use Vittoria tubes (buytl), and check the tyres once a week for slices or debris. |
