And no I do not have LBS that can allow me to try each out. I'm looking for a opinion not a review on which 2007 shifters and drive line preforms the best.

You're gunna get nuthin but arguements here about that. That question is a green light for fightin words to follow...

Are all the 2007 components available now?

You know shimano and campy camps stay that way? That means even if their kit has shortcomings, which they all do, they'll still say, in their opinion, their's is best.

Bicycling Mag this month has a feature article covering each of these grouppo's. Their staff did road testing and give their opinions freely. Has some interesting details and analysis to go with the opinions. It's worth checking out.

The review concludes the one that performs the best is the one you like looking at and using the best. They give it to Record for style points, DA for proven durability, and SRAM for having small hoods and levers with an innovative shifting system.

Depends on what angle you are coming from.

1. If future compatibility is an issue: 1. Record, 2. D/A, 3. Force (because it's unknown)
2. If rebuildability/repairability is an issue: 1. Record, 2. D/A, 3. Force

3. If it is for multiple bikes: 1. D/A, 2. Force (given the spacing on shifts and low cost of SRAM cassettes) 3. Record

4. If it's for almost digital shifting, 1. D/A, 2. Force, 3. Record

5. If it is for ability to aftermarket trick it, 1. D/A, 2. Record, 3. Force.

Having been a mechanic for the beter part of 20 years and owning pretty much every generation of Record or D/A, It's really a toss up. Since I am racing multiple bikes, I am running with D/A because of the cost issue. I like SRAM, it's pretty cool looking and functions well but we need to see what the cards show about 2 yrs from now.
