100 miles...I need a new Rear Disk for my TT Bike. Maybe they will cut me a break for all the referrals. But I'm not holding my breath.

As for riding into the unkown...I have done it all my life. In my area, I was the 1st to ride a Denti, Orbea, Argon 18, Cyfac, CK4 and BH Frame before they were even popular. No shop carried any of them locally. I met them all these brands at trade shows I attended. [I LOVE TRADE SHOWS] All incredible rides!!! It's the risk taker side of me. I am glad that I have been able to afford to ride so many different bike brands from around the world. For this reason ROI frames blow me away. They ride like no other frame I have ever ridden. [And I have ridden over 62 different frames in 14 years of cycling] I guess for me, venturing off the wee-beaten path has opened my eyes to so many cool and interesting things this world has to offer. I only pray that I can continue to afford my craving for the new and unkown. The journey is what keeps cycling so new and fresh for me.

I've been looking at these for about a year online because they look so nice but I don't think I'll ever be able to make the leap to purchase something that I've never seen in any shops or anyone riding. Sounds like you have a garage full of high-end frames so it's probably no issue for you to try something new but for me, this purchase will be a once in every 15 years kind of deal. Everytime I ask anyone about them I get blank looks. I wish I could find at least one real bike shop that carry these. Doing a search for ROI bikes actually brought me to this thread so I'll keep checking for more info.

Thanks Carbonguru! I can't wait to see your new ride with 07 campy record. Will keep checking back on those pics.

Can you post a few pics? Any other info you can share on this and the other Roi bikes it really appreciated. These are super cool looking rigs but until now something of an unknown brand. Keep those cranks spinning Carbonguru!

I have pretty much ridden the bike an avg. of 70 miles each time I have been on it a min of 6 days a week. I also have ridden it exclusively in ALL TYPES of conditions so I could write a fair review of the ROI Frame. I actually just rode it today in some wet weather to see if the frame will rust [a common known problem with Magnesium Frames] I think it will be OK though since the Magnesium Tubing is wrapped in a thin layer of carbn. But I want to be 100% sure. Heck, all ROI Frames have a 3 year warranty so I guess I have 36 months to abuse the hud out of this frame.

I invite you to check them out. I have total confidence in the ROI brand now that I have personally riddden and tested their stuff for myself. www.roibikeusa.com is a great place to start your research. I'm sure a phone call to them will help you out even more with your buying decision. I know it did for me.
Yes, I spoke with them recently. I didn't talk to Mike though. The guys name was George Ama. He seemed nice enough, and knowledgeable. I think they're the same people who sell them on ebay. I'm just looking for more objective opinions.

George is the one who took my Monster Order this morning. I met him at Eurobike in the ROI Booth. Really nice guy. He is the one in charge of all the North American ROI Sales. He gave me some good insight to the ride quality of the Monster frame. I think this frame will be fast and pretty nice looking. I picked the custom paint option and will be getting the bike in a metallic silver with black and red accents. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'll send you a picture when I have the frame and my new camera here with me.

That is exciting! Lota new bikes at your house! I am really getting excited about the Roi bikes and can't wait to hear about the Monster. Do they have any shops who keep stock? I have been hunting for a magazine test on one. I heard that some team(s) race on them. Have you heard this? I wonder if any current owners can offer their reviews? I am going to Italy next month and wonder if I can buy one from George and then pick it up at the factory. Now that's Italian! I really like the Anteres. Amazing paint. The Magma may now be my new favorite, I'm just not sure. There are so many carbon bikes out there but you seem to have ridden many of the top brands-do you think the Magma is the best? My new bike hunt is getting crazy!! Thanks for the info and keep the wheels rolling!

Maybe someone from carbonguru's biking club or tri club could post their experiences with their new frames. Maybe carbonguru could put you in touch directly with a couple of them? Let us all know how that goes...

Carbonguru-I was thinking about next season and I'm planning on doing a few triathalons. Do you know if ROi does a frame for that? I have done a few on my Klein but I think I'm ready for a dedicated tri bike. Do you think that is necessary? I have a Klein Quantum Pro with Dura Ace and Zipp wheels but no aero bar. Do you think a different bike would help? What is the tri bike of choice? I rode with a guy on the new Cervello tri bike with zipp 404s. Wow! Have you seen that bike? It was very light and looked great. There again my Klein looks pretty good too but anything over about 100 miles and I start thinking about carbon fiber. And beer!

I bet that you could pick it up if you wanted. They seem like really laid back guys who love what they do. I can't say which bike I like the most yet since I have only ridden the Mag-Ma. Once I get the Monster under me I am going to get a good idea of how the Mag-Ma stacks up.

The paint jobs are pretty nice. For $800 you can paint the bike any way that you want. My Custom Monster has 4 different colors. I can't wait to see it in person. I hope its not too much or looks dorky. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Mr Klien ROI makes that TIME MACHINE TT FRAME. I saw it at Eurobike and WOW is it stellar looking. I have a really nice TT bike right now but I am seriously thinking of selling it for one of these. Can you imagine me, a guy who has normally 5-6 different bike brands in his garage at any time with 3 ROI bikes at once? My friends will think I got Sponsored by them or something. I can tell you that the Time Machine is not cheap. At the show the bike without a drive train was tipping the scale at $3200. So I will have to save my pennies to afford this bad boy. I say go for it! You only live once.

That is a pretty penny but so are all the best rigs. Do you know if it is a one piece frame? I am also wondering if it is high mod. carbon and what about weight? I ride a 61 cm. The TT is a very good looking bike! Are the RoI bikes popular in Italy? There are so many cool bikes we seldom see here if at all. It would be hard to hang that ROI time machine in the transition area!
I wonder why rOi has not yet run ads? They seem to have a real winner except that they are an unknown brand. When I google them I get Wilier LEROI. I wonder if they are good? Lotta questions today!

I am not sure of the weight for a 61cm frame. According to their catalog the Small Frame is 1190 grams. Not too shabby for a TT Bike. I know my Trek Equinox comes in at slightly over 20 lbs with everything on it. The tubing is high module 3k amadeus lion tubing. It is some really nice material.

I asked George the same question. WHY DON'T THEY ADVERTISE? His response was this: "We really don't need to." He put it like this, racers and teams know where and how to find them. Like many small builders in Italy, they just don't advertise. I have seen some seriously sweet bikes in Europe that I have NEVER heard of, but they just looked to fast and nice. Viner frames was one I saw like 3 years ago and never really knew who they were. But they have nice frames too and never really advertise. I guess being small is what they like most. More time to focus on details instead of mass production.

Now that's just silly. The ole "only Italian racers know about it." I think George is going to have to come up with something better than that. Like some specifics maybe. What teams? If this argument were at all valid, how do you explain Colnago or Pinarello? Maybe the bike is awesome but this is exactly the kind of rhetoric that makes me avoid the purchase. Not that you're George or anything. Just sayin...

Hmm. 100 mile-You are making me suspicous. Does anyone else know about ROI bikes? I am on the verge of breaking off some serious jack for two of these things a road and tri bike but you have me worried. Perhaps some one could post an opnion? I don't buy bikes too often and need to get it right the first time. Anyone know anyone riding or racing them? Perhaps a phone number for the factory? They look great and carbonguru likes them. He seems to have ridden many of the top shelf frames. Ads don't mean that much to me and I don't want a mass produced bike but I need some info. Maybe I should get something better known.

100miles...they just don't advertise. That is basically what what he is saying. For them, they feel they don't need to. I respect that. Keeps things special and not so commercial like all the other brands out there. For me its not a big deal. They made it to the biggest bike show in Europe. With all the sales they were drumming up they probably stay busy all year. This was my take on the comment. Their booth was indeed busy and all the sales people were writing up orders. I saw it with my own two eyes. Lots of guys speaking Italian, German, and other languages I did not recognize. Obviously they have a strong European following. Here in the USA I think they should advertise a bit to help guys like you and Mr. Klein solidify your decisions. I think it would help fence sitters. Just my 2 cents...not like ROI is going to listen to me. They must be doing something right. 10 years in business in this tough industry says a lot. Maybe Ivan Baso should get sponsored by them. Then everyone can see the bikes on TV. He's Italian. He would be a good spokesman.
