Default 105 2006 is equivalent to Dura Ace (what year)?

Just curious for people who have been riding Shimano groups for a while, what would 105 for year 2006 compare to with Dura Ace. For example, is Dura Ace from 1999 the equivalent of 105 from 2006? Will 105 in 2009 be the same as this year's Dura Ace? Is that how these groups have progressed? Thanks

Don't compare. 105 10 speed is incredible compared to 105 9 speed. It is great quality and shifts on par with DA. It is heavier and cheaper than the other groups. Why does this question keep getting asked anyway?

I'll give you a straight answer. You will be happier riding an 07 model bike with 105 than a 2002 version with DA (assuming same price). Everything else progresses too, not just the groupset.

Technology changes so comparisons over time are not really suitable to make. There hasn't really been "hand-me-down" changes from one year to the next between groups as much as wholesale redesign of all groupsets every few years.
