Question New Zurich with Used Ultegra, worth it??

Hi all,
I am in the hunt to replace my 1988 Cannondale with a new bike. Currently my LBS has the LeMond Zurich for about $1950 in my size but one of the workers there said that he is getting the same bike just for the new Ultegra set and that he'd be willing to sell me the new Zurich frame with his used Ultegra set for $1200. The used Ultegra set has 4000 miles on it. He indicates it is all cleaned up and works fine. Any comments on whether this is a good deal or not would be appreciated. I of course like the idea of saving money but not if Ultegra components only last for 4500 miles or so!!!
Thanks in advance for your input.
Tall Tom

P.S. Also considering a Trek 2300, Bianchi Giro, Cannondale R1000/2000 bikes. I do about 1000-1500 miles/year. Typically 50-60 mile rides, non-racing.

sounds like a good deal if no known problems with the ultegra group. I've got close to 15000 miles on my ultegra sti levers, brake calipers, and derailleurs with no problems. of course, I've changed the cassette, chain rings, chain, and brake pads.
