Default Frogs or Candies for road

Worked overtime and have some money to blow.
I've been fairly happy with my cheap Look type pedals and road shoes, but would like the freedom to stop and walk around a bit. Part of my normal ride is a busy multi-use trail, so quick, no hangup exits are a priority.
Already bought some MTB shoes so I'm ready to go.
Anyone have experience with both Frogs and Candies/Eggbeaters? I'm leaning towards the Crank Brothers because I don't think I need all the float on the Frogs.
