Who Does this & Why??

Im a big fan of Assos & often scour the net looking for the cheapest Sources - I have been onto ebay a few times & seen buyers biddding for 2nd hand bib shorts etc - I personally think this is disgusting & cannot understand as the sellers gets 75% of its value back

- whats your thoughts ?? & if you have bought do you also buy 2nd hand underwear??

I probably wouldn't buy used shorts, not because someone has worn them, but lycra tends to wear thin rather quickly and you wouldn't really be able to see this in a photo on ebay.

In all fairness to steelem, he posted a genuine question (perhaps trying for a fresh start?), only to be attacked immediately. Let's give him some room to breath folks.

C'mon steelem, tell us the truth - how many pairs of second-hand bib shorts have you bid for and won and do you sniff them all everyday or do you ration yourself to one sniff of one pair a day? You can tell us, because you're among people here who I'm sure sympathise with guys like yourself who have brain damage.
So come out from behind the sofa, where I assume you keep all your second-hand acquisitions from ebay and reveal all. Tyson

I'm with steelem on this one. I know they can be washed and that yes, they are clean.... but there's something about it that just isn't right. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't wear someone else's cycling shorts. And I definitely wouldn'tpay for the privilege. Ewww.

I thought he asked a reasonable question, and he deserves a reasonable response.

Nobody in their right mind would wear used cycling shorts, which probably means there are a few people out there not in their right mind.

Spend some time reading the posts on this forum, my friend, and I am sure that fact becomes very apparent quickly.

It would have been a reasonable question had it not been for his very last statement:

As for the original question, I think I am in the minority in thinking that used bib shorts are not a problem if a fair price has been paid for them (i.e. much less than retail). The proviso is that you know how to wash your clothes.

Underwear is an unrealistic comparison, because a good pair of daks doesn't cost upwards of $250 cf. good bibs.

Underwear is a realistic comparison. You can pay any amount, underwear is still underwear.

There is something wrong about it. The thought of it is weird. I agree with Steelem.
