Default Worst wheel build possible?

I bought a $50 wheel that was laced and trued at the supplier. I rode it 20 km and some spokes on the non-drive side literally have no tension. I'll go back to the LBS tomorrow to ask for them to tension and true it. But just curious - has anyone ever seen such a poor build?

Yes, I have seen inexpensive wheels have this issue before; especially rear wheels.

Same here. I have had the same issue on a 50$ mountain bike wheel

For $50 bucks, what did you expect?

Something similar to what comes on a $300 bike - not the lightest, most aero, or most anything, but works for hundreds of km.
