Greetings...im in the market for a new bike. Within my budget im looking at a new '07 Bianchi 1885 w/ all 'campy' veloce component group & 'campy' Khamsin Wheels. The other is a slightly used '06 Specialed Allez Pro with all Dura-ace components (and a few ultegra, like front derallieur & brakes), Mavic Kysrium wheels, Gossamer FSA crank. I know Bianchi is a legendary name, just dont know how good the 1885 really is along with the Veloce Campy group? Same with Specialized bike...excellent components, but not sure of the bike itself. Can you guys help me decide? They are both the same price, roughly $1300. Thanks!! |

I used to ride a 2004 Specialized Allez Comp with full Ultegra group and it was a great bike. Its also very light. I upgraded to a 2006 Specialized Tarmac Pro which is full carbon with carbon FSA crank and carbon handle bar and its really no that much lighter. I got mine off ebay for $1,550 including shipping. which is what I would sugggest to you. Save up $300 more dollars and go for a full carbon off ebay. nickcach |
