Native Americans didn't carry guns until after Eurotrash immigrants arrived.
It's all Whitey's fault.

The natives were killing each other with bows and arrows before the immigrants arrived. Stevebaby, would you have disarmed the natives of their spears, clubs, bows and arrows before the immigrants arrived with guns?

You see, we are the natives now and we use guns to defend ourselves, and kill each other just like the natives of long ago. When attacked or invaded by outsiders with weapons superior to guns we will have to use our guns to defend ourselves, and then adopt the superior weapons as quickly as possible...like natives do.

We think we are civilized. Big mistake.

Civilised
1. Having a high state of culture and development both social and technological.
2. Marked by refinement in taste and manners.

We...the people of today, and that includes you, have no more claim to the title 'civilised' than anyone in the past. The only justification to the claim of being civilised may be technological, but that is instantly outweighed by global social unrest and a culture that varies between connoisseurs of good things that money can buy and 'feck you I don't give a ****'. Technological development on it's own simply gives us different toys to play with and more power to the power-hungry, so what is new?

On refinement in taste and manners, speak for yourself.

I tend to agree with you, the biggest difference today as opposed to past is the fact that most of us crap inside a building, out of sight, instead of on the ground.
I am not certain that this alone has totally improved things.
I do however enjoy my air conditioner.

Please stop with your spam. For every photo of bad behavior, why not think examples of the good behavior people exhibit every day. Your "doomsday" mentality is simply paranoia...and no, more guns will not solve the problem...

Its mental to be reading this on a cycle forum, normally cyclists are a good natured bunch of people who stay clear of violence and criminal behaviour.

Carrying a gun to protect yourself? people don't carry weapons unless they intend to use them. What if you had an argument with an arsehole driver who cut you up, would you pull out your glock and start blapping him in his face?

In England yes we've got a history for violent football hooligans, but they use their fists and bats etc. They dont carry guns! And thats a tiny percentage of people.

Americans typically own a gun... MENTAL!!

I have to agree with you on all points except for your last statement "Americans typically own a gun". Only 17% of American households have a gun, usually some sort of hunting rifle or shotgun. Only 23% of the population of the US own a handgun for defense (excluding people who are required to own guns such as police officers and military). These statistics are based upon surveys done by the US Coalition to Stop the Proliferation of Handguns.

As for "What if you had an argument with an arsehole driver who cut you up, would you pull out your glock and start blapping him in his face?", I am assuming that you mean "cut you off" in American English. If not, I would have blown away that sucker as soon as he pulled his knife or razor.

And as for your football hooligans, a bat can kill you as dead as a bullet!
