Default Sound From My Clip Pedal??

Hi guys,I got a question relating to my pedal.Hope I got some help from you guys about it.My left pedal is making some annoying sound.First of all,I though it was the BB which is making sound but I asked my club mates they told me its not the BB but the pedal which is making those sound.I had about 3000km+ on it and it is used less than a year. They said I got to change it.But the condition is still very good which makes me not bear to change it so soon .So is there other option for me other than replacing it??Do you guys got the same problem as I do??Thx for any replies

What model and brand pedal?
What condition are the cleats in?
What does the "annoying sound" sound like: squeeek, click, etc.?
When does the sound appear?
What makes the difference of left to right pedal?
What have you tried to remedy the situation?

I use Time and Look pedals. I find that cleaning the cleat/pedal interface surfaces and spraying them with Pledge once in a while helps.

It is SHIMANO m540 if I am not wrong. The cleat I use is from the pedal of SHIMANO 105.It is badly worn. The sound is like tak tak tak. It happen exactly at the same area when I am pressing the pedal hard when going up a hill and sprinting. It is only my feel when I concentrate on where is making the sound that it is from the left side.It got a lil bit feel of resistant(just that bit).I was thinking to add grease or spray some WD-40 to it??I asked my clubmates should I do it and they told me better not to.They said maybe it would make it worse.

I say it is time for new cleats that are for the Shimano M540 pedals.
Don't bother with gease or WD-40. They won't help the cleat/pedal interface, add a mess, and will make it worse.

Remove the pedal, grease the threads, install the pedal.

Check for sounds again, then report back.
