Default Shimano SPD-SL pedals

What is the float difference (if any) between Shimano spd-sl pedals: R540 and 6620?

None on any 'SPD-SL' pedals of any level. Same cleat, same float.

its the color of the cleat that indicates float - red cleats=no float - yellow cleats=~5-6deg float

Aren't the yellow ones 12 degrees of float? or something to that nature? I definitely thought it was more than 5

I think the yellow cleats have 6 deg of float and actually the pedals have 6 deg of float built in them which would give you 12 deg with yellow and 6 with red.
