I have never ridden Campy, but I'm thinking of testing out Chorus. But I like being able to downshift when in the drops, which Ultegra SL makes simple to do. I don't ride in the drops a lot, but I would think it would be an inconvenience to have to come back to the hood to shift. I might rather have downtube shifters. |

You dont know the product and then assumed that shifting from the drops is impossible? Just a note ... many professional teams use Campy, doesnt that tell you that something basic like shifting from the drops is possible? |

You really do need to test ride a group to know if you'll like it. Sr. Cho is right in that you can't reliably choose a group just based on what others say. The offerings from the big three (Campy, Shimano, SRAM) all shift in fundamentally different ways. They also have different ergonomics, which is usually an even bigger factor in choice.
