I have a Ksyrium Elite wheel set with Continental 3000 Grand Prix tires. They came on my Merlin Cyrene. They have very low mileage because I fairly quickly upgraded the wheel set. I've kept these as backup for quite a while, but realize now that I'm never going to use them. I want to sell these locally in Houston but don't have any idea what is a reasonable price. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |

You'll sell them easier and quicker--and get a better price--by auctioning on eBay. Just visit your local LBS and get a discarded wheel box to ship them in. If you ship by FedEx Home, you should be able to send them to any lower 48 residential address for about $11. (Any other shipper will cost much more.) |

I have a set of 2006 Ksyrium Elites and you'd have to waterboard me for three days straight to get me to refer to them as a "decent wheel set" -- I've just had too much trouble with hubs, spokes, rims, pretty much every part has been rebuilt or replaced (under warranty) two or three times, a real lemon -- and yet I will second what Alienator wrote: Keep 'em, it's always nice to have a second wheel set. Now that these POS Ksyriums are my backup wheel set it's much easier for me to tolerate their (many) shortcomings, because I only need to use them in case of emergency. But man, when I taco'd my good wheel three weeks ago I sure was happy knowing I'd still be able to ride the next day on the backup wheels.
