Question Pedal Crank

I have enquired at several bike stores (Penrith, NSW, Australia) for a pedal crank and a 52, 40 cog sprocket for a Malvern Star Sportstar 26" in new (or good condition). Can anyone on this forum have such or suggest parts from another cycle equivalent?

Bike parts are very generic, although there are a few different standards available. What you need to do is to identify which type of bottom bracket it is that you have, (google pause)

OK, found a pic Here:

It appears that what you might have is a Malvern Star Roadster, and probably in 27" rather than in 26".

It appears to come with a cottered crank, which seriously limits your choice of replacements, unless you're willing to consider replacing the bottom bracket to a square taper, which would widen you choices of replacement parts considerably.

Iv you're looking to keep it (looking) original rather than functional then I haven't got much help to offer. But by all means, trawl away looking for cottered cranks.
