I just fixed a clicking bottom bracket by removing the cartridge, cleaning the threads, and wrapping it once with aluminum tape. I then worked the tape into the threads with a fingernail. I used plenty of blue loctite on it partially to lube it going in. I also put a strip around the cartridge where it goes into the threaded ring. I carefully put it in several turns, then it started to peel off as I inserted it further, but enough of it got in there so that it didn't move around or click anymore. Next we will see how long it lasts. |
