Those are expensive! What's with all the extra paraphenalia there? Is that for changing resistance? I still ride a set of ordinary rollers that I bought in 1980 (the age shows on me, not the rollers).
My 11 year old daughter rides a mag-trainer (road bike) and the rollers (track bike), and prefers the rollers (different kind of effort, I know). She, and her fellow competitors, usually take their mag / wind / fluid trainers to races for scheduled warm-ups before the rides.
I have an intense dislike of riding either (yes, they should be reserved for those convicted of heinous crimes), but definitely prefer the rollers to the mag-trainer.

^ That's awesome.
I am going to my LBS tomorrow to get the Kurt kinetic trainer. The only thing is that I want to test it out and see how much noise it will make. My apartament is on 3rd floor and my floors are very thin, so I hope it won't be loud, or just all of the movement might make too much noise.

I agree. Rollers are very easy to ride, and a hell of a lot more "enjoyable" than stationary alternatives. Resistance, for what its worth, comes with cadence. Rollers rewards smooth pedalling action, and don't allow any insidious rests to sneak in there.

+1

Rollers are all i use anymore. Much more fun, and the skills you develop translate to better riding.
