For the most part stiffness, build quality, and price. Titanium is more "elastic" than aluminum so it might be more flexy especially around the BB. This can be overcome by properly manipulating the tubing though. The second aspect is quality of build. Ti is only as good as the quality of the material and tubing used and how well its put together and welded. Poor tubing and welding can make for a terrible frame even if the material is the best. This can be overcome with qiality build and skilled labor but that leads to the next point. To overcome the first two drawbacks leads to the third... PRICE! Almost every quality Ti frame is expensive although not necessarily more than other high end frames. |
