With the 2008 Olympic Games just nine months away, twenty Americans are set to compete in the 2007-08 UCI Track World Cup opener this weekend in Sydney. The U.S. National Team will feature seven athletes while seven UCI-sanctioned American professional teams will collectively field an additional 13 riders. Forty-eight national teams and 23 pro teams are scheduled to compete in the first major international track race that factors into Olympic qualification with the Olympic Test Event and second World Cup scheduled for the following weekend in Beijing. http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=3309 |
