For about 75% of the riders it is a continous party. The rest is serious riders out there hammering the entire day like I do. There are around 300 RAGBRAI "teams" - basically just people getting together and buying a bus to transport all their stuff around. Thats how most of the stuff gets from town to town. Everyone on the team rides, and one guy drives the bus to the next town. The riders basically take over the overnight towns, so you camp wherever you find grass if your not on a team. Although there is one "official campground" for the bigger teams, with reserved spaces, showers, and things. I go with the DMCC team out of Des Moines, IA. We usually have about 70 riders for the week. The club rents 3 huge rider trucks to haul the baggage to each overnight town. You arrive at the overnight town, find the camp, put up your tent, shower, go out and see the town, go do things, go to sleep, get up, pack your bag and tent, put bag and tent in truck, ride to next town usually about 80 miles away. Repeat. Thats RAGBRAI
