Default Plyometrics to train sprint

Are plyometrics a good way to train sprinting for a roadie without decreasing endurance performance as weights would?

I would recommend sprinting to train for sprinting. Why would you think that plyometrics would be better than sprinting How much cycling should I do to help with my squats?

Well, yes, I plan on doing more sprints on the bike. But I've read that the aussie track team does plyos, and I was planning on doing some anyway for cyclocross.

If you want to get better at sprinting, put your effort into doing sprints on the bike. Plyos may help a little, and I suppose they wouldn't negatively affect your endurance.

Trackies do them because they specialize in sprinting and need more than just bike sprints to get to that level. Roadies can make much improvement from just doing more sprints.
