3 days after break now. Track race accident. doc says 6-8 weeks before i can race. anyone ideas on how to train before getting back on the bike for real ? stationary trainer ? squats ? gym work ? obviously all dependant on body. wouldnt want to do anything counterproductive - ok Tyler !! any general tips out ther on keeping my fitness (and sanity) thanks |

I raced on it at about 6 weeks (still in the figure 8)...not too smart, as I was warned that a crash would almost surely result in an operation...but I was lucky. Squats?? Fortunately, I don't lift anymore!! It healed in an overlapping fashion, given the nature of the break, and squats will always be impossible. Still, it seems everyone and every injury is different, and bear in mind the bone will still be healing for up to a year, so any crash in the first few months could be probramatic. |
