I really like the Performance all aluminum 3.5 inch rollers for training I get to use all the gears while in the big ring and the inside ride interactive power calculator http://www.insideride.com/index.php?...d=26&Itemid=52 is giving fairly accurate power targets for training which is strange because I think their rollers are 3.25 inch... Any ways It would be nice to ride out of the saddle for the last 40 seconds or so of a 20 minute interval. Does any one using reduced radius rollers have the technique down pat? Thanks

Spacing the rear rollers 3 inches further apart is something I never considered... Where is my drill? http://www.nyvelocity.com/article.aspx?ID=791&CID=54

Tried that and lost way to much speed so then I tried something similar to this home made free motion rollers idea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAvVcNxGlR0 and I could get out of the saddle and ride at 24mph easily wow what a difference. Got the stuff at Home Depot for around $75 plus the cost of the rollers $120 = $195 total. Quote:

What stuff did you get from Home Depot? What sort of steady wattage can you achieve on the rollers - do they provide enough resistance for SST? Thanks. JB. |

Some plywood some nonswivel type wheels some black rubber straps some 2x4s that I ripped down the middle some #10x3/4 Hex Tec screws. I did a 3x20 at 20.6mph I'm heavy about 201lbs right now so most riders would be faster on these rollers. I do 3x4s at around 24mph for just a few seconds when I'm fresh I can hit over 47mph. The roller blade wheels were from an old junky pair and I had some angle iron that was just right to mount them to. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...g?t=1213808522 http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...g?t=1213809370 http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...g?t=1213809551 Quote:
