Cool down is probably a better term. What constitutes a good cool down is pretty subjective. You ride easy until your heart rate settles and your muscles loosen up, and you can get off the bike without falling over or blacking out. Generally, (as with a warm up) you want to go a little longer after a hard effort (ride), and not as long if at all after an easier ride. If you're doing VO2max intervals (hard!), you probably want to spin for at least 10 min afterwards. OTOH, if you're just finishing a longer L2 ride, there's hardly a need for a cool down. Bottom line, you need to try and see what works for you. I don't think there's any science here that would override how you feel.
