Wink Need advice for cross training goals

Hey all,
I am starting cycling to cross train between my strength training sessions. Cardiovascular exercise is my weakest so I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to what an initial mile goal should be for a beginner

Default Re: Need advice for cross training goals

For a cardio workout, I'd say 30-60 minutes of moderate-to-hard riding would be a reasonable cross-training target. That would match up with an aerobics class, or a jog. Mileage would be whatever you can do in that time.

Most cyclists are training more for endurance than what I would consider a "cardio" workout, so rides tend to be longer (1-3 hr range) and at a lower intensity.
