And then there's my quandary. I am consistently between 5-10 pounds over what I think would be my ideal racing weight (150 or slightly less). In other words, right at the point at which I can ignore the whole issue and put it off until a later date (closer to race season). Well enough of that. I'm in for the challenge. Here in Canada, we have Tim Horton's, not Mr. Donuts. If I can skip the sour-glazed timbits when I get my coffee, and not buy chips when I buy groceries, this should not be a problem.

I asked for some ideas here (think the thread was called 'diet help') and got some good suggestions Started out by tracking kilocalories but then realized this was unnecessary. In simple form: lots and lots of training + sensible eating choices (cut out the cake, watch the alcohol intake, plenty of fresh food, and no starving oneself) = results. Seems to work so far. |

Let me join the quest to lose unwanted mass Currently : 75 kg at 170.2 cm Goal: 70 kg by May 1st 2010 I was heading in the right direction this summer, but when the cooler weather hit, and my longer weekend ride distances have been reduced in half, its crept to the current state of affairs. I was using an FitDay.com to help monitor caloric intake last winter. I'll probably start doing that again. |

Weigh in after a ride yesterday 89.1kg at 172.5cm. Set some good power but needed a recovery day today. Aim is to build fitness to be able to ride 6 days a week and get the balance right between improving racing fitness and getting in enough volume to chew through some calories. |

So, I'm considering cutting down on some weight. I'm 5'11" 178 or so, and probably 16-20% bodyfat. While I lose the weight though, I want to make sure that I don't lose any of the progress I've made in my weight training over the last two months. Does anyone around here know a good way to cut down on body fat without losing much strength? My current plan is to do around 45 minutes of cardio, and change my lifting program to sets of single heavy reps. The rationale behind this idea, is that too much cardio can be catabolic and hurt my lifting, so I have to do some weight training. But, I don't want to go down to a lower weight with higher reps, since if I was doing 10-20 rep maxes, I'd be doing what bodybuilders do to bulk up, which seems to run counter to my goal of slimming down. So, I'd like to instead do low volume, high intensity lifting, while I'm doing high volume low intensity cardio. Anyone have any comments? |

Been riding 1.5hrs of L2 on the trainer or outdoors everyday for the past month and lost 4lbs. Been watching the quantity that I eat; not really particular as to what I eat. Started at 198lbs and will get down to 189 by February. Critical is that I don't want to lose any power. |

I forgot to weigh myself before breakfast today, but was the same weight as last week after drinking a glass of water, eating a banana 1 piece of toast with a small omelet. That means I must be getting near to 73kilo something. half a kilo down from last week. Tyson

3. ÄLÄ keksi tekosyitä vaan urheilemaan ilman mussutusta. Last edited by blackjaq; 1 Week Ago at 02:06 PM. |

Update: first week diet fail. First I ate too little, felt really weak by Wednesday and couldn't even finish my 2x20 even after taking Tuesday completely off. Then I ate too much to compensate and had two consecutive days of three-month best CP20s (probably because of the extra rest from failing Weds). Now I'm right back where I started. |
