The obvious choice for today's athlete is gene-doping...reproduce your 'own' muscles. Currently undectable. Only way to notice in someone like Lance will be that he will weigh one or two kilos more than last time. FWIW All the weight will be in the quads. So he will weigh 73-74 kg if I remember correctly...

I'm actually very excited about the future of cycling after this year's Giro and Tour. Positives were minimal and caught very quickly. Lance raced clean and did exceptionally well using a combination of hard work, natural ability, cunning (the breakaway was critical) and a level playing field. Any argument that he was smarter about doping than others is bunk. Plenty of well financed riders that lead teams (Heras, Vino, Millar, Hamilton et.al) were bagged for doping. There is no way to beat the system and the sooner everyone learns that the better off the sport will be. We now need to move to a four year suspension for a confirmed positive and a lifetime ban thereafter. We need to be sure that sufficient safeguards are in place to avoid false positives and false bans/accusations as these are people's livelihoods we are talking about (and careers). Anyone who thinks Lance doped, step forward with facts, not conjecture. And certainly do not try to rely upon ten year old tests completed by French labs with unknown credentials and motivtions. For those who think that Lance doped this year with all of the tests and disclosure, then you obviously just like conspiracies (and are comfortable with ignoring facts). Ignorance is bliss, I guess.. |

There is still a lot of other undetectable PED. Don't forget that the large majority of athletes stated that they will dope to win an Olympic medal if they were sure to not be caught!

Don't forget that EPO is a naturally produced substance. If a cyclist trained at high altitude ,extracted some blood and transufused it back in when needed......well possibilities exist. Of course this is only theroretical and I have never personally seen anyone do it.
