Pereiro may be excluded from Tour when does the madness end. We might as well not have any grand tours, cause we will never be sure ... but I don't want to see the Tour de France die, so lets move on ... come on... salbutamol will not make anyone win (or come in second in the Tour de France) !!!! actually it gives me muscle cramps !!!! ... meanwhile, **** Pound is making me a little ashamed to be Canadian now! |

I was about to go on about the '99 Tour de France, when the previous two winners were out of competition, but then I read the article itself. It's nothing but a power play between the French and the UCI. As much as I hate the thought of punishing the riders who have worked for their shots at the Tour (and when a year is missed, there's no making it up -- time lost is time lost forever), the weenies who are running this tragicomedy need to be hit where it hurts. The French government needs to tell the public exactly why they're forbidding these clowns from hosting the event, and require them to pay back all the participating cities for their inclusion fees. THAT is the only thing that will get through to the self-important here. If that would happen, I see public pressure to 'quit being weenies and put our national sport back together!' Will they do it? Probably not. Will the Tour de France ever be the same again? Maybe -- in about another 20 years.... I, for one, won't be watching after this. Sorry, Oscar, Albert C., Johan, and the rest of you, but your beloved career choice is being flushed by the only males on the planet to suffer penis envy. Oh, and as far as **** Pound goes -- he needs HIS POUNDED! And not in a good way, either....
