This should be an easy one for you guys. Obviously RDAs, when it comes to calorific intake and fat etc..., are really guidelines for people who think walking the shops is exercise. So its pretty obvious that cyclists need to eat more. However things like vitamins I would expect are not consumed like energy so do we need to exceed these RDAs by much?

The question I'm really interested in is is it a good idea to eat loads of salty food when you consider the fact that cyclists are a sweatier bunch than most people and hence should lose more salt than others?

I'm not a label reader, by the way, apart from looking at fat content. I know we all need to eat a bit of fat but when you have a higher carb to fat usage ratio than inactive people I expect its a good idea to avoid fat when eating your energy needs.

About salt intake
There is a good article about salt in this website http://www.rawfoods.com
You might not like what you hear but you have to have an open mind about what other people say about foods, additives, as well as supplements. Me I like whole food vitamins especially one called the Greatest Vitamin in the World. I know the truth and not just because of this supplement. Email me I would like to talk to anyone about this subject.

I wish everyone in this forum the best
