Default How much food ?

I'm usually tired through-out the week of which I attribute to too little food. I normally bike 35 miles 3 times a week and sometimes a long ride. I'm 34 and weigh 155...how much should I intake? Should I eat more on bike days? (2500 cal?) and less on off days (1500?). Or make a balance and eat the same every day (2000?)

I'm not a nutritionist, but I suspect that 2000 calories barely covers your base metabolic requirements + normal movment to-and-fro.

Also, if you're 6 feet tall, then you don't have enough stored body fat.

If you're 5 feet tall, then you probably have too much stored body fat.

The quality of your calories is important ... some calories require more energy for your body to process.

Regardless, allowing that your 35 mile rides take 2+ hours, you are probably burning ~800 calories per ride (i.e., 400 calories per hour beyond just sitting there).

But, if you aren't losing weight ... AND, presuming you aren't just swilling a couple of beers after each ride for calories ...

Consider having your blood sugar tested ...

Try to get more sleep ...

Post you height and I will be able to help you with your daily calorie intake. You may want to consider keeping your calorie intake the same throughout the week just to see if it will help you any. Based on the amount you ride and how much you weigh, I would personally up the calories to about 2500 daily. Just a thought. John

I'm 5'8 and weigh in at 150-154 lbs (of twisted steel and sex appeal). Like I said, my biking varies but for the most part it's usually 3 bikes a week about 100 miles or so in total.

I'm thinking about running on 2 of my off days (about 4-5 miles a day) to lean up a little, but I want to stay stong...which involves lifting weights as well. Geeez, where do the variables stop.

Oh yeah...age is 34.

That depends on your metabolism, if you have a fast metabolism u could eat more, for instance i have a very slow metabolism because i suffer from low thyroid so i gotta diet all the time
