Default Birth trauma attorney always right?

Attorney Pamela Pantages tells UBPN listers that her legal
work is "always right"...

"If there is money on the table when your case goes to
trial, then that money is yours to lose. A trial is a
gamble, pure and simple. And being a parent myself, I am
not inclined to take risks where my children are
concerned...I work regularly with the doctors at TCH, and
at other bpi centers in the country, with other trial
lawyers who represent injured children and their families,
and with many of you. All of us want the best for these
children, and I continue to believe that while the work we
do is sometimes difficult, it is always right." --Attorney

OPEN LETTER (instantly archived for global access at: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/chiro-
list/message/2367)

Attorney Pamela Pantages 17 South Main Street at Maiden Lane
Suite 201 Akron, Ohio 44308 Telephone: 330-376-6766 Fax: 330-376-

Pamela,

I think it is always WRONG when attorneys (as is usually the
case) fail to mention to parents and juries that
obstetricians are knowingly closing birth canals by placing
women semisitting or dorsal at delivery.

Obstetricians indirectly ADMIT (on video!) that they are
closing birth canals!

See ACOG birth crime video evidence http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/chiro-
list/message/2300

Here's the same indirect admission in The Merck Manual:

"When shoulder dystocia occurs...the mother's thighs are
hyperflexed to increase the diameter of the pelvic
outlet..." http://www.merck.com/mrkshared/mmanual/section1-
8/chapter253/253g.jsp

WHY WAIT TILL THE BABY'S SHOULDERS GET STUCK?!

Note: Merely hyperflexing the mother's thighs is BAD
McRoberts and does NOT increase the diameter of the
pelvic outlet!

See again: ACOG birth crime video evidence http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/chiro-
list/message/2300

Here are the simple grisly biomechanics of semisitting (and
dorsal) delivery clearly stated more recently by Jason
Gardosi, MD, director of the British National Health
Service/NHS West Midlands Perinatal Institute/WMPI...

"...the weight of the mother is in part taken on the sacrum
which is therefore pushed upwards, thus decreasing the antero-
posterior diameter of the pelvic outlet..."
http://www.wmpi.net/reviews/oe/oe_shoulder_dystocia.htm

Jason Gardosi, MD also notes - same site - an alternative
method of GOOD McRoberts. Cool!

The strange thing is - Jason Gardosi, MD et al. also
recommend semisitting delivery (closing birth canal)!!!

Visitors to the just cited WMPI website read in WMPI's
Pregnancy Notes

"The second stage...You might want to remain in bed with
your back propped up with pillows...As you push, try to let
yourself 'open up' below..."
http://www.preg.info/book/chapter11.htm

Sorry to get E-motional but... ARRGGGGHHHH! WMPI (Jason
Gardosi, MD director) recommends both opening and closing
the birth canal at delivery!

Attorney Anthony Mancini indicates he won't (can't?) mention
to juries that obstetricians are knowingly closing birth
canals - unless a "credible" OB/GYN is there to say it!

See Attorney looking for 'credible' OB/GYNs... http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/chiro-
list/message/2360

I replied to Anthony that he needs a BRAVE "credible"
OB/GYN - one who is not afraid to render his entire
profession susceptible to criminal prosecution and massive
civil damages.

I suggested to Anthony that OB/GYNs MUST close birth canals
because stopping would be tantamount to admitting a horrible
massive crime that sometimes kills and paralyzes babies.

Pamela, you say you are not inclined to take risks where
your children are concerned.

If you continue to fail to mention to parents and juries
that obstetricians are knowingly closing birth canals...

You are taking risks where OTHER parents' children are
concerned.

The fact that obstetricians are KEEPING birth canals closed
when shoulders get stuck (BAD McRoberts; see above) should
also be mentioned to parents and juries.

Of course, since (as you say) you work regularly with the
doctors at TCH and at other bpi centers in the country - and
with other trial lawyers - you should make sure THEY are
aware that obstetricians are knowingly closing birth canals
by placing women semisitting or dorsal at delivery.

If I am wrong - if you HAVE been telling juries and
parents - BRAVO!

I am not ALWAYS right in my work - but I think I am right
about attorneys (including you) mysteriously not telling
juries and parents that OBs are knowingly closing birth
canals by placing women semisitting or dorsal at delivery.

If you did not KNOW that OBs are knowingly closing birth
canals, etc. - well now you know!

Start telling parents and juries!

Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,

Todd

PS I will post this reply on UBPN's message board by
clicking "reply" in your message...

UBPN moderators/censors are not letting my posts
through - yet.

UBPN claims to be interested in PREVENTION but is silent
about obstetricians closing birth canals up to 30% and
keeping birth canals closed when shoulders get stuck!

For details...

silence - BAD... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chiro-

I will bcc this post too to UBPN Pres. Nancy Birk and her

West, Sabrina Randolph, Jennifer Engelhardt, Krista
