The transmission on my bike is 24-speed and recently I replaced the old cranks, chainring and bottom bracket with a new set of Race Face Evolve XC since the old ones are pretty crappy. After I put the chain back on and turned the crank, the chain rubbed against the chainring next to the one which the chain was on. Is it because the new parts are for 27-speed transmission, and should I replace the old cog (8-speed) with a 9-speed cog? Or is it just the chain? Thanks in advance for any help!!!! |

Check the assembly of the crankset- do you have the chain rings turned the right way? There should be sufficient space for an 8-speed chain even if the chainrings are "9-speed" type. TD
