What's up. my goal for urban biking is only to get physically in shape. Is this bike a good one for that?

Thanks.

Hi

Any bike is a good bike for getting fit. If your riding is mainly in an urban environment then the bike you have is fine. Just keep pedling and you will soon find you are getting faster and your mile tmes will come down.
Good luck

Now I have avid ultimates instead But you're right, discs are must have soon. I want to get avid's juicies... but they are a bit expensive... specialy because I have to do an international order and pay a lot of taxes in order to get them ( it is +48% on real price)

my bike:

-2003 Access XCL frame (supergo/performance) pretty light frame, 3.7lbs according to performance
-2001 LX shifters/brake levers, derailleurs, crank, bb, cassette, SRAM chain
-LX hubs laced to sun CR-18 rims (they are great!)
-older, 1998?, manitou sx-e fork. kinda soft, but works and VERY light (3.6lbs i think)
-TITEC stem and bar
-some odd ball v-brakes with rim wrangler 2 pads (great pads)
-schwinn grips
-SDG Bel-Air saddle
-Back to flat pedals for now since i only ride a bike path
-Panracer fire XC tires...also great!

Ive had these parts mostly since 2001, and put them on this frame in 2004. I love the handling of the frame and the LX components shift very nicely once adjusted properly! Id love a specialized fsr, but...dont have anywhere to ride offroad anyways
yes, i did all the assembly/tuning myself with minimal know-how and learned a LOT. Hope you all like it!

Well said! Have a look at the crap I own! I will tell you, I did my first 5000km on a catalogue-jobbie (the "Capriolo" depicted in my gallery) and it did me no harm at all..!
