Gary Fisher Recommendation?

I found a Gary Fisher Model number BS:6102/TARPON, SILVER SERIES ALUMINUM mountain bike for sale on Craigs List. The seller doesn't know much about the bike as he has only been on it 5 or 6 times. He says it has an RST Front Shock and CI-Deck Plus written on shifters. He says it retailed for $899 last year. Appears to be a bargain at $350. I can't find out much about the bike on the internet.

Anyone familiar with this bike and can offer a recommendation?

If the dude paid $800 for a Tarpon, he got ripped off. The Tarpon is one of the lowest end GFs out there.

I wouldnt pay more than $250 for it, and that assumes its in great shape.
