Originally posted by onionboy I am in the market for a new bike, but I don't know what I should get. I'm a mother of 2 and use it mostly for towing a trailer, but also have plans to go on a 200 mile ride from Colorado to Moab. I don't do any major hard riding (I'm not a dare devil) but I want something nice. Please help |
You are doing the Kokapelli trail, but you aren't into anything hard? There isn't anything "too" technical on the trip, but it's a hell of a few days in the saddle! Have fun. If you are considering trips like that you are likely a candidate for an FS rig (assuming you are up for other rocky and technical rides). I will pretty much always try to steer folks towards Santa Cruz or Norco bikes. There are plenty of other great bikes out there, but they are the two I have lots of time on and have had the best experiences with (the bikes themselves and dealing with the companies). Santa Cruz make a couple of "woman specific" bikes (FS and hardtail). Giant makes a couple of decent bikes (good value for the buck).
What is your budget and how much riding are you planning on doing after the Kokapelli ride?
