Default An easy fix

Several months ago I was riding a rocky trail, and my seatpost clamp broke, thats right it just snapped in two pieces. I fell and luckily I was fine but my bike ain't. Now that winter is almost over I am looking for a easy and cheap fix. Here is are whats wrong with it:

1. The seatpost, how do I figure out the size that it was so I can order a new one? (it is a 2001 Schwinn Homegrown Comp)
2. I snapped like 3 or 4 spokes off the front wheel (and possibly some off the back I will check later)
3. I bent the front rim (not a lot, just enough so that it stops whenever that section hits the brake, and has to be forced through)

Those are all the problems that I need to fix. Since I am extremely limited on money and resources I was thinking that I could just chop off the broken spokes, take off the front brake, and order a new seatpost. That way the only thing that will cost any money are new grips (I will have to take the old ones off to get the brake lever off), and the seatpost. Does anyone have any alterative ideas?

P.S. All the bike shops around me are ridiculisly expensive so I order everything.

HFC, you cannot just chopoff the broken spokes and ride a bent up wheel by removing the brake. Take it to a bike shop and get it fixed right before you bugger somethng worse or hurt yourself.

Spokes are like 50 cents a pop for good ones. Go to a bike shop and have them reinstall the spoke and straighten the wheel. I know most shops wouldn't even charge more than 10 or 15 dollars for that work. Find out what size the post is. I remember Schwinns usually being 26.8mm but verify that. There are good seatposts that can be found for $20 - $30 such as some titecs and the Race Face Prodigy/Evolve series. Don't try to ride it before you fix any of that or you will just end up spending more when you brake something else.

Thanks, for the advice, I dont know what i was thinking before. I guess I will save up for a bit and bring the front wheel to a bike shop and order the post.
P.S. If anyone can give me a definate size on the post it would be greatly appreciated.
-Thanks
