Default Cateye CS 1000 Power Values

After doing a search of these Forums it looks like there a few people training on the Cateye CS 1000 (which has a power reading ) and also PowerTap and SRM meters

My question is, how well does the power reading from the CS 1000 correlate with the more accurate PowerTap and SRM values.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated

I have the cateye and a powertap SL. According to the cateye I am world class! However my race results tell a different story.
Here are some data points with the cateye on a resistance of 5% climb simulation with both wind and mag resistance:
PT-SL Cateye
100 180
150 270
200 350
250 420

They're neither accurate, nor consistent between units. Nice trainer though (for training on).

Yep, I knew they weren't accurate (hence the post ) but for repeatability its not too bad - y'know like training to hold a steady power output irrespective of HR

I have also been using the cateye 1000 and it is a great trainer for doing intervals until i have the money to get one of those BT traininers. You wouldnt have some more data to convert the cateye to SRM or Power Tap? Say PT 300 350 400 450 500? would would be the PT equalivant?

Please see my earlier comments. There's no consistency in power reading between different units. For e.g., on one Cateye i rode a 10 mile TT @ ~ 800 W (PT reported ~ 300 W), while on another Cateye my 10 mile power was ~450 W (PT ~ 300 W)

If memory serves me correctly, i've used 5 Cateyes units and they all reported different values for the same PT or SRM power.
