The Ergomo pro can store as many files as you can create as long as it fits within the total recording time interval. You can influence how much total time you get by changing the reporting rate. I'd have to go to my bike to check, but I believe I have mine set to 2 second reporting and I get roughly 24 hours of saved data before I have to worry about data being overwritten. As I understand it the data is stored in a circular buffer style memory so if you do over run the 24 hours your oldest data sets will be replaced with additional data.
You can also store intervals within any given data recording session. I don't know the upper limit on intervals per session but typically run 3 to 10 intervals per session without problems. These are nice because markers are placed in the file so you can view the intervals later and it's nice because you get power, hr, avg power and speed info for each interval as it runs and after you finish it which is displayed seperately from similar data for the entire file. It's a nice way to compare your average power from interval 3 to interval 9 to let you know if your power is falling off.
Anyway, If I understand your question. The Ergomo Pro has no trouble maintaining multiple sessions and will spawn a new session anytime the unit does not receive sensor data for more than a couple of minutes. In the normal case (less than 24 hours of data) you'll just get multiple files. If you don't upload and clear your Ergomo very often you could over run the memory and then the oldest data sessions are lost. Also note that you need to either clear the Ergomo from your computer after uploading data or use the back panel reset button to clear the memory. Clearing the trip settings clear the displayed averages but don't clear the stored memory.
Hope that helps,
Dave
