Specialized Allez Sport 2009
Pros: Great for long rides
Cons: Needs upgrade on components
I have the Specialized Allez Triple. It is your 24-Speed entry-level road racing bike. I have wanted to upgrade it to a 27 or 30 speed. I have no problem going fast if I want to. It is a workhorse. The components just need an upgrade.
Pros: Similar geometry to the Tarmac. Functional kit, though Sora shifters feel cheap. Beautiful frame with nice welds.
Cons: Heavy, poorly-made wheels. Tires also need upgrading.
A very nice entry into road biking. The frame definetly gives room for upgrades, starting first with the tires and wheels, and then perhaps the shifters. The suppllied saddle and bars are both functional, though they do little to reduce the occasonally harsh ride of the aluminum frame. Not a bike that I would want to ride 8 hours a day, but absolutely comfortable enough for 5 hours n the saddle.
