Default Tour de France on the internet?

I'm desparate to find a website that has some live coverage of Tour de France, even if it's low-quality. I don't have a TV (only a computer), so I can't get the outdoor channel. Does anyone know of any such website?

There's no internet live visual coverage. And even if there was, it would be total crap. You need to be able to see team jerseys etc. Streaming video wouldn't be able to handle.

OLN's website has live audio. Not very exciting, but something.

Go to your LBS and ask where you can watch live. I've found several great places in both Portland, OR (where I was on vacation) and in Boston (where I live) where I can watch.

Default Of course there is

www.tour.tv2.dk but it will cost you 99 danish crowns and i am not sure an emrican visa/master card will work. Many of the european TV stations are offering for pay coverage

Ah yes listening to a bike race... that ranks right up there with watching golf ...

With all the posts about this I am really surprised there is no good site to go to to get streaming video... OLN only has short little snippets. I wish there was a pay site to watch Tour de France coverage especially with archives... I would pay like 40 bucks a month for it (cheaper than cable anyway).

Yeah there is cycling.tv, but you can only watch that dweebs training diary and the tour of africa/cyclocross championships so many times before you would rather watch talk shows...

if you look at the snipets video file address and you cut off whatever is after the _ you have a 3 hour video of the whole broadcast. for example stage 7 snippet is mms://dayport.wmod.llnwd.net/fc/a258/e1/v1/0040/08300020050708_024923p5024949p0.wmv

mms://dayport.wmod.llnwd.net/fc/a258/e1/v1/0040/08300020050708.wmv <this one is the whole stage>

better than audio even though it's not live

The Tour de France organizers have disallowed free live streaming of the tour, so you will only find pay sites.

The streaming from Danish TV2 is great. They are at the very front of the tech edge at the moment, streaming news, movies and special events like the Tour de France. And the quality at 2Mbit (their max rate) is TV quality (At the moment they are showing 'Pulp Fiction' for free). They have been streaming the Tour de France for at least 5 years now (low quality and free in the begining). The available qualities of the Tour de France is 300 Kb to 2 Mbit. It will adjust itself accordingly. If your connection is less than than 512Kbit, I would not recommend trying to stream it.

Of course, you've got danish audio so that might be a major turnoff.. And it costs 159 DKR (about $22) for the Tour de France. I dont know if they accept non-Danish subscriptions but I dont see any reason why not. If you want to test the service go to :
http://tour.tv2.dk/article.php/2556360.html
and click "Tour de France trailer". You probably need to create a login (free) though. Or ask them at support@sputnik.dk

Try www.cyclingfans.com It take a little effort to get the vid & audio working but it's free & no registration/logins needed.

Default Free live stream from Dutch tv

Been reading up on your forums for quite some time but just decided to get an account now. Mainly to give u the link to:

http://www.nos.nl/nosstudiosport/wie...our/2007/live/

NOS is responsible for the dutch coverage of the tour and they also offer it online (for those who plug in their headphones n watch/listen at work like me). No charge, live streaming and you can even watch fullscreen. Should help you guys out.

Downside (for you guys in any case) is that the (all be it enthousiastic) audiocoverage is in dutch. But in any case you have the video coverage, maybe combine it with the audio from the american website or something.

cheers,

Simon the ultimate rabo fan

www.cyclingfans.com today has free live coverage for every speed conection. Including the previously hiden eurosport english audio to use with the several video feeds.
This isn't the most user friendly site & requires a little effort on your part to get your media players working, but there is no signup, login or fee. Just fans helping fan watch bike racing.
