I love the way they say Juan Antonio Flecha with the heavy emphasis on the FleCHA. |

Do you every post anything positive? For a "community member" you sure bring a negative feeling to the area. Quote:

today's extended coverage from bob roll: "there is samuel Dee-mooo-leeen in the break" "Van soooomeran takes up the last sprint point" and trautwig: "look at the amazing architecture in normandy. these buildings were heavily damaged in World War II and in europe they have spent some time fixing them... blah blah blah" guess he didn't know the Tour de France was going on |

hahaha! what did he say last night that had me shaking his head? something about all the bandaged guys riding. but they're not out! they're still riding. well of course they are. you're watching the peleton. the wounded people that quit wouldn't be there would they? anyhow, i listen to the stage in the morning on eurosport and love the accents. they do a great job describing exactly who and what is happening. that way when i watch it in the evening i already know what happened and just enjoy listening to phil and paul or even bobke and trout prattle on w/o worrying about the actual coverage. |

I actually took you seriously at first. I don't mind Paul so much but it drives me crazy that Phil can't get half the riders' names right and spouts pure nonsense just to keep talking. Still... I can't imagine a Tour de France without them. It also hurts to listen to either Bob or Frankie say "Toor di Fance" - the Europeans must howl. |

Yeah, Phil loves to needle people. He slammed Roll today and Bobke just sat looking at the camera for about five seconds not saying anything. I can't remember for the life of me what it was though. I like them. You can't say Paul and Bob don't have a feel for what it's like in the Tour. But still, Bob Roll is no longer the irreverant outsider but Mr. Corporate. They can do much better than Trautwig though, nothing against him personally. |

i am very much a novice when it comes to racing and other members are far more qualified and experienced. Where to me the commenratry is entertaining and informative others may find it dull and dumbed down. imagine just finishing your masters degree then asked to go back to school to learn your abc. phil and paul cater for the arm chair novice...part of thier job is to raise the profile and inspire interest in the sport of cycling for the masses. They are good at doing that. They got me into watching the Tour de France in 1995. For better commenraty go to Eurosport, Sean Kelly knows his stuff but i find it hard to listen to him for more than 5 mins. He has such a monotone voice that it soon becomes part of the background noise...imho.
