I've heard that Wiggins has some special plan for today.
Maybe he wants to make some sort of introduction for 2007 Grand depart.

Flandis is finaly wearing usual Phonak shorts with yellow jersey instead of black&white ones.

How faster would he go if he shaved the fluff off his chin?

(We're running out of stuff to talk about...)

Pat Mcquaid was just interviewed on Eurosport, a number of points:

He said that it's possible that riders said to be involved because of phone messages, etc. could be cleared of any sanctions.

He said that the UCI has been working overtime to finish the reports on OP and that should come out in a few days.

He was defiant over the Protour and basically said: "We'll decide what races are in, the UCI is the head of cycling, blah blah" appeared very arrogant.

It looks like another cover-up, but that's ok if Jan Ullrich is cleared and gets to ride again.

Sheesh, you'd think the French could play the U.S. anthem at the proper speed instead of like a funeral dirge, which is what we get at EVERY event in America.

A shallow post:
The adorable children of the Jersey winners Robbie's blond cute child and Ras's adorable baby, who seems like he's getting to eat way more than his daddy, who just look *starved*. How much does he weight now that the tour is over, does anyone know?

And Landis, maybe I'm wrong, but he seemed to have trimmed some of the fuzz

Great tour, worthy winners.

Or.

Maybe Amber made Floyd shave.

Why is road cycling such a clean shaven sport, face wise?

They shave legs (arms, too?) and chest, probably a bit funny to be shaved completely - but have loads of facial hair

Cute children but their fathers are really exaggerating. They really don`t need to bring them to the podium. Thanks god Cunego and Flandis don`t have any yet..

For Ras, I think he weights about the same. Believe it or not, some of the riders even gain weight during stage race. Maybe not during GTs but smaller ones..

I would imagine that professional cyclists get to spend little enough time with their families as it is. I can tolerate them sharing their crowning moments easily enough.

Rasmussen's baby looked bigger than he did though.

HA, I was thinking about you when that happened, and Cunego does have a newborn. I can see your point, it should be more about the riders than their babies, it's a bit pathetic.

LOL -- I thought about you too, remembering your post on the subject a few months ago. I still think the winners have achieved something monumental enough to do whatever they want on the podium. If they want show off their kids, great. If they want to rip the dress off a podium girl, that's fine too. In fact, the latter should be a requirement.

By the way, Landis does have a daugher, Ryan, who looks exactly like her mother. He brought her up to the podium the second time when he was accompanied by Kloden and Pereiro.

Well, it's a damn good thing too, that the girl look like her mother, I wouldn't want to be a girl and look like Floyd

It's nice to attach personal life to the riders and their bike, and that includes their children, it adds a nice touch. The EuroSport people said RM always brought his child, but that's the first time they've seen him walking up the podium himself

I'm frustrated though, I missed seeing the first three of the GC on the podium, did they even show it on EuroSport? Because it seemed like the broadcast was over, but I definitely remembered them showing LA, JA and Basso on the podium last year, so maybe I turned off my TV too soon, oh well - I'll catch it on the highlights.
