Exactly my friend.
All of this story may be fake, parts of it may be true, but one thing we can be sure of, nobody gives off 3 bags of blood=1.5 liters of whole blood, and then replaces it with EPO to later transfuse.
This is a Paul Bunyonesque tall tale which raises serious questions about the validity of the whole story.

But apart from that, he tested positive for some blood manipulation and here is some evidence of some kind possibly supporting that claim, and then there are the results, his stunning finish at Liege that year. I dont want to believe he dopes, but here's the question:
Assume he did.
Why is he maintaining his innocence and trying a comeback?
There are only a couple of possibilities.

I have not read the source but does it state that the bags of blood are each 0.5 litres? They may be smaller bags because their is no reason for these guys to need a full unit for a "top up".

Just catching up after not reading for a while. They have finally done me in a really tapped my interest in the sport. I like watching people race bikes, not watching chemistry experiments on wheels. I may not even follow the Vuelta. Once I know the sport takes doping seriously, I will be back.

Did Floyd dope? I guess so. What the hell do I know about testosterone tests and why the hell do I need to know about them in order to watch a freaking bike race?

Did Tyler dope? No doubt on that. Him raising donations for his legal defense is the most disgusting thing I have seen in all of this. I know Lance's game pisses many of you off the most but Tyler is the one who really gets me. His wife as business manager for the whole affair. Then he gets people to send him money to hire lawyers to lie for him. And, he is still getting people to donate to that foundation of his. I am sure MS is a good cause but I want nothing to do with all of that. He and Haven coming on OLN during the tour and whining about "all they have been through." Please.

Hamilton backed himself into a corner, trying to question the validity of the test. And he listened to lawyers too much. Technically speaking, he wasn't taking someone else's blood, at least knowingly. But it now appears that he was doing a whole lot of other bad things. So his original statements weren't an outright lie, more of a white lie.

I wouldn't fault him so much, but he played up that 'nice guy' image heavily when he was riding. And then took donations for his defence, while the white lie turned into a black one. Hamilton is now thoroughly committed to the farce, can't back down now without admitting that he deliberately deceived everyone. Just keep on going, and hope something goes wrong with the Puerto papers.

You think with all that money, Fuentes could have bought a shredder... maybe he kept the paperwork as sort of an insurance policy.

There is no doubt that it was a low down thing to do. Despicable. It is also one of the reasons I despise Armstrong. I can handle Landis or Ullrich doping. I can also handle people lying about it; do people really expect them to fall on their swords? It is unfortunate, but the sport is what it is and doping is unavoidable if you want to get to the top. But Armstrong holding himself out as some sort of example to cancer survivers while doping to win is just off the moral chart in my book.

Agreed, the only thing worse than a doper is an "in your face" doper.
It's similar to when a criminal commits crimes while taking the time to taunt and ridicule police for their inability to apprehend them.
