Default Head in the sand time!

Call me naive, blind, insular, whatever but I've decided to ignore the spectre of drugs this year and enjoy the Tour de France through the eyes of a teenager.

I'm going to enjoy the spectacle without wondering who is clean/dirty/under investigation/previously dirty/has blood bags somewhere/has a secret nick name or doped 11 years ago etc.

I love the sport and ultimately there is little to nothing I can do to change the drug problem so bring on the caravan, red devil, crashes, sprint finishes, mountain angst & agony, huge bicycles in french corn fields, sprinter's bus, shiny carbon technology, sunflowers, live action, heroes and anti heroes, new equipment, suicidal break aways and a new winner!

Long live cycling and the Tour de France!

Me too. Look out for Doctor House, it won't be long before he posts to bag the crap out of us.

Due to the recent terrorism in London and that the City of London Police as distinct from the Metropolitan Policed forced searches on every rider, team car and team bus before it could enter into London. They were looking for suspect packages of a terrorist nature and not drugs but I still I doubt whether they were able to get any gear into London...... in saying that Kloden and Vino would have transfused before the Tour in Madrid and will have a motorcycle deliver some more blood on the rest days..... if you thought cycling was dead just ask the 2 million on the side of the road yesterday if they care about drugs..... that’s the biggest crowd ever at any sporting event....

Hey, that's what the TV editor and talking heads Phil Liggett and David Duffield are for. To ignore the facts (doping, giant syninges, Epostal tags,
motor pacing, illegal tows, madison throws, illegal water bottle tows)

'Eyes of a teeenager'? Wrong metaphor, my man.

I think you meant child. Teenagers know plenty about drugs and doping. It is their parents who cling to denial.

Doping is rampant in American high schools.

It is estimated that between 600,000 -1,000,000 US teenagers use steroids now. (out of only 17,000,000 HS kids)

But hey, if the emotion of D E N I A L is required in order to enjoy a theater show know as Le Tour then, by all means invoke it. Either that or drink a case of Jack Daniels abd beer. That's what Floyd Roid Landis claims to have done.

I do suggest the Opera, Hollywood films, hot dog eating contests and WWE as excellent alternatives to the Tour de Pharmacy.

Then perhaps you should take your own advise and go to the Opera sit back and relax.
It might help take away all that pent up stress & frustration you carry.
