Hey, is that okay for my kids to see?

Someone told me they walked out with their kids due to sex scenes in the first 5 minutes? But, they might be a bit uptight so I wanted to hear from someone else before taking them.

Gosh, I'm a friggin' prisoner in my own house for 4 hours and I can't even find anyone on the internet. I really am alone.

Ok, so more on the concert:

Kid's getting older and apparently gained some morals. There were no strippers dancing on poles in the background in patriotic bikinis, no explosions or fireworks . . . no fur coats and no multitude of wardrobe changes. As a matter of fact, no taking his shirt off (thank God), except for the finale, which was of course this song.

Instead of an opening act, he has "friends" come out during the show. So, we then got some rap (Kid and Run are very good friends). And, hubby was very excited when this guy came out and sang this and this (his very favorite band from highschool). Honest to God, J Geils (Peter Wolf) was wearing the very same outfit as he is in the Centerfold video, twenty years later, lol!

Well...I took an 11 yo..not my 8yo...and honestly, there is a lot of plot and stuff about terrorism, and the first part is fairly realistically violent. And I think he would have been bored with the story.

The sex scene is implied...it does show them making out on a bed but it then cuts to the next day, where the girl is naked in bed (covered). So that depends on your kid I guess if that's okay. It's brief and forgotten about really in all that happens later.

The other reasons are why I'd hesitate.

Hey, C...check out this website...it's WAY more conservative than I am, BTW, but it gives very detailed information about movies. In fact I don't read it for something I want to see for that reason! But if you're trying to get an idea of why a movie is rated the way it is, it helps.

Ratings don't mean much, IMO...I've seen R rated movies that were far less offensive, or excessive or whatever than a LOT of PG-13 movies. I hate PG13 because it could mean ANYTHING. And now I have a kid right in that "tween" phase... SO this site at least tells you EXACTLY why the movie got the rating.
