I got a team annual pre-season party tonight. Being a relative newbie member... I volunteered to help and was assigned clean-up duties. Which means when everyone goes "Let's go downtown and party!!!"... that'll be my cue to start stacking chairs and tables and filling trash bins.

Somebody's got to do it I suppose ...

FWIW I read that Obama had a great speech in Seattle yesterday. Had a fairly young (in comparison) crowd of 21,000. But there were a lot of cross-overs at the rally who were really impressed/inspired. Hillary must be a little concerned because she spent a fair portion of her speech slagging Obama, including his lack of universal healthcare in his list of promises.

Obama is promising "Hope". Hard to break that promise...

I will never get out of Cat 4.

One of the guys I started racing against 5 years ago was also a Cat 4 lifer until they changed the rules. He upgraded to 3 last year by getting 20 pack finishes in fields over 50. He did about 60 races last year to do it.

Hey, does anybody know if the 20 pack finishes have to be within one year? I just realized I may be able to upgrade (the cheap way). Wahoo...

I still suspect that the Clinton poltical machine, with all its insider connections and commitments that it gathered early, will find a way to put her on top. On the other hand I think Obama can make a case for being the better candidate in a general election.

I don't think she can win in the general election. I also think that Obama is really starting snowball. After today's wins (looks like he smoked her in all 3), I think he starts to gain the momentum needed to win. I believe it is partly him, and partly the fact that Hillary just cant win the general IMO.

Overall I am not too happy with any of the candidates. I have the feeling that the system is slowly falling apart, and the level of presidential candidates gets lower every election.
