Cranky, I do have to tell you . . . I had breakfast with a real fun family at the lodge Sat morn. They're avid skiers: mom, dad in their 50s with older teenage boys. Cyclists in the summer, skiers in the winter. Very sarcastic family so needless to say, we had lots of fun and I fit right in, while hubby was working a seminar.

So the mom had a broken collar bone and couldnt' ski. She shares with me that she's never had a ski injury in 40 years of skiing and recommends never skiing at some place in PA because it's very crowded and loaded with out of control beginners. She then proceeds to tell me that she got taken out from behind by an Australian guy, but that he actually seemed to know what he was doing and she suspects that he was cut off by someone else that was a beginner. To that I say, "yeah, those Aussies. They're definitely known for their winter sports expertise."

I can understand that you might get that impression TDL if you interpret everything that is said as having literal meaning.

As I've said, I am not gay. I've slept with many gay men, and every time I try gay sex, I find I don't like it. Especially if he acts like a typical guy and doesn't call me afterwards...

Now some people will understand that the above paragraph is intended to be humorous (whether it has any humor or not is another question). I am fictitiously portraying myself as a practising homosexual (I am a sPOOF), that is not that fussed on it and in denial, for laughs. So TDL, don't take the literal meaning of that above paragraph OK.

Well you're both wrong. Aussie's have winter sport expertise and we love to take people out from behind on the slopes... . Especially if he/she has their skis close together and look sexy.

Yes... I am underestimating your powers to BS, TDL. I just realise now how damn hard it is to understand anyones' meaning when they are being sarcastic on and off.

I apologize for constantly being murky with my meanings. It does however occasionally work in one's favor if you say something really stupid, that you intended to be taken seriously, and people thankfully interpret it as tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.
